Rev. Delbridge Narron

Delbridge at the piano.

Delbridge Narron is the Pianist/Cantor for Wedgewood. Preludes, postludes, interludes, solos, accompanying the choir------------he loves doing it and we love what he does. You never know what Delbridge will play: a soft introspective selection that will calm you after a stressful week or a "rowdy," pick-you-up, old time hymn which will stir your spirit.

Music is important at Wedgewood and Delbridge is one reason we feel Wedgewood is blessed musically.

Delbridge’s grandparents were all farmers and his parents were both educators.  Delbridge is a North Carolina native and grew up in Indian Trail.  He is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow.  Delbridge is admitted to the bar in New York and North Carolina and has a limited license to practice in South Carolina.  Delbridge is Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Springs Global US, Inc., headquartered in Fort Mill, South Carolina.  The single most important fact about Delbridge is that he is Avery’s uncle.  While working for North Hunterdon Baptist Church in Glen Gardner, New Jersey, Delbridge founded the AIDS Network in Hunterdon County, the first AIDS service organization in that area, and helped found the North Hunterdon Community Food Bank and Voorhees Village Preschool.  Delbridge was ordained by Wake Forest Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC, and has served as a deacon at Old Cambridge Baptist Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at Madison Avenue Baptist Church in New York City, and at Wedgewood Baptist Church.  In lieu of progeny, Delbridge has endowed the Delbridge Narron Scholarship at UNCC for deserving North Carolina public school graduates.

Delbridge was a Hankins scholar at Wake Forest University, earning his baccalaureate degree with a major in Religion.  While at Wake, Delbridge studied voice with Teresa Radomski.  Don’t blame her.  He was a Union Scholar earning a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York.  Delbridge earned his Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law.  Delbridge did one unit of clinical pastoral education at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem but suffers from no long term detrimental effects.

Delbridge preaches at Wedgewood and other churches. You might want to check out his sermons in the sermon archive. A good sermon to start with is his "Thirty Theses For Thinking (About)". Be prepared to put on your thinking cap.

When Delbridge is not playing the piano or organ for Wedgewood he enjoys, among other things, gardening, writing, preaching and reading.
